Roger is an entrepreneur and part-time missionary for Lake Valley Community Church in Hot Springs, AR where he is an ordained minister and Elder. He splits his time between work in Haiti, his local church responsibilities, engineering consulting and operating a guest ranch. His responsibilities as a missionary include field work as well as development of the mission program at his home church.
In addition to a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Roger is currently working toward a Masters degree in Theology and is a certified leader with ‘The Antioch School’ of Ames Iowa. Roger and his wife have mentored couples and individuals in formal and non-formal settings for over 20 years.
Since 1990 Roger has worked in over 10 countries doing cross-cultural mission work in varying capacities including a two year stint in Guatemala. He has served as missions coordinator / developer for three churches during that time and has led many short term mission teams. In 2001 Roger and his wife received the ‘Abernathy Volunteer Mission Service Award’. Currently Roger is working with Pastors and businessmen in Haiti utilizing both his theological background as well as his entrepreneurial experience to train Haitians to be better Pastors and better businessmen. The businessmen are receiving ‘wisdom’ training from scripture to better understand God’s plan for them to be a blessing not only to their families but also to their community.
Roger & his wife Jerrie have two sons both married and also two grandchildren. Their older son Seth is in the IT field and his younger son Sam is a 3rd generation engineer. Roger and Jerrie love to travel and spend time on the lake. Roger also loves to scuba dive when he gets the chance.
